TerryAbout Terry: Terry O’Daniel is Acting Head of Security at Amplitude, a product analytics platform that helps businesses to track visitors with the help of collaborative analytics. He joined the company in October of 2022 as Head of GRC. Prior to Amplitude, he led Governance, Risk, and Compliance within Infrastructure Engineering at Instacart. Drawing on his background in Engineering and Security, Terry builds teams that are focused on applying technology to solve GRC problems at scale via automation and instrumentation rather than compliance-by-spreadsheet. Terry also served as the interim head of Security during a period of high growth, and he brings a strong focus on cyber risk management to the everyday operations of keeping Instacart’s systems compliant and data secure. Prior to Instacart, Terry built the Security Assurance function at Netflix, the 2LOD Technology Risk & Compliance functions at Salesforce, and the GRC function within Production Engineering at Yahoo! Terry has also worked in quantitative-risk and cybersecurity consulting, and he has worn many hats at smaller startups.
