Tony Spurlin, Chief Security Officer for MAXEX, is responsible for the full lifecycle of the enterprise cybersecurity program, including strategy, policy, technology risk, security architecture, identity/access management, security engineering, and operations. He is a recognized industry leader, with notable success in leading the transformation of large corporate organizations and executing strategic cybersecurity programs. Tony is a strategic and tactical leader with global experience building and motivating teams to foster engagement and cross collaboration in driving processes and technology to solve complex business problems.

Prior to joining MAXEX, Tony was the Senior Vice President and Chief Security Officer with Windstream Communications, Vice President and Chief Security Officer for EarthLink, and Global CISO for Cox Automotive, where he had overarching responsibilities for the strategic direction, design, build, and monitoring of these major companies’ global cybersecurity programs. Spurlin has also held information security and risk management leadership positions at companies such as Optiv, The Home Depot, LandAmerica, and VeriSign.

Tony has over 30 years of information security, regulatory compliance, and risk management experience working with organizations from leadership and advisory positions in various sectors including retail, healthcare, banking and finance, business services, telecommunications, and the U.S. government.
