Hardik Parekh

SVP, Chief Security Officer

BlueYonder

As SVP and Chief Security Officer at the world’s leading supply chain management software company, BlueYonder, Hardik Parekh is responsible for company-wide global cybersecurity strategy and execution. Hardik brings over two decades of global cybersecurity engineering experience and a builder mindset. Prior to BlueYonder, Hardik developed and matured security programs at companies like Dell, EMC/RSA, Intuit, Amazon, Splunk and Five9. Hardik has transformed a compliance-based security program into a risk-based security program at Five9, a $15 billion public company. Hardik has been recognized for his stellar contributions by the Five9 board of directors, which includes security-savvy board members. With his “builder” mindset, Hardik has transformed manual security operations centers (SOC) into highly automated SOCs while building homegrown SIEM, SOAR, and security analytics technologies at Amazon. As a CSO for Fortune #2 company — Amazon’s physical retail stores division — Hardik led the post-breach containment and recovery strategy for a highly publicized 2017 Amazon Whole Foods data breach two months after the Whole Foods acquisition by Amazon. Hardik also transformed product and cloud security at Splunk after a publicly announced cloud security incident. He serves on advisory boards of innovative startups and CompTIA.

Hardik co-authored the widely used OWASP Software Assurance Maturity Model 2.0. Hardik spoke at several security conferences evangelizing OWASP SAMM 2.0. Hardik has contributed to NIST Secure Software Development Framework (SSDF) and co-authored SANS Top 25 programming errors. Hardik significantly contributed to and designed the curriculum for CompTIA security certifications over the past four years. As a result of Hardik’s contribution, CompTIA awarded him a special certificate CompTIA Certification Advisory Committee (CAC). Hardik serves on the Industrial Advisory Board of CISE department at University of Florida. Hardik also spoke at RSAC 365 Innovation Showcase on the topic of Identity and Access Management. He has contributed to the security industry through OWASP SAMM, BSIMM, SANS Top 25 programming errors, NIST SSDF, CVSS 3.0, and SAFECode contributions.
