Dan Creed

CISO

Allegiant Travel Company

Dan Creed is a seasoned information security, cybersecurity, and risk management professional, who has worked across every facet of information security and cybersecurity throughout his more than 25-year career. Dan has worked all over the United States and internationally, helping design some of the most robust and complex information security systems and network architectures in the world. One of his most significant career achievements was leading, growing, and maturing the Information Security, Cybersecurity, and Risk and Compliance teams at Allegiant. He considers it a great accomplishment to be part of such an amazing organization that utilizes technology to make a positive impact on people’s lives every day, facilitating travel to and from vacation destinations and connecting loved ones.

Another accomplishment that stands out in Dan’s career is his key role in building and maturing the infrastructure security at Meta (formerly Facebook), overseeing an infrastructure comprising over 8 million servers. This infrastructure handles an average network egress measured in TB/s and processes more than 28,000 GB/s of data for nearly 3 billion users.

Dan helped mature the cybersecurity program at Paradigm, a company providing software solutions for the building industry, and guided the information security program through SOC 2 compliance. He also played a vital role in ensuring compliance with the due diligence and security requirements during Paradigm’s acquisition by Builder’s FirstSource for $450 million.

Serving as the Global Director of Information Security at TransUnion, he led an information security program with multiple teams distributed across 38 countries. At the Morgridge Institute for Research, he successfully scaled up a compute cluster for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), enabling the scanning of over 275 million lines of code per day to detect vulnerabilities.

Dan owned and successfully sold his own business, Digital Minefield Inc., and has worked on various cybersecurity and information security projects within the financial, educational, healthcare, and governmental verticals.
